Experimental Results on Heavy Quarks
This paper reviews the results presented at the 31st ICHEP on Heavy Quarks,
with emphasis on those related to the determinationof the unitarity triangle
parameters.Comment: Plenary talk given at 31st ICHEP, Amserdam, 24-31 July 200
Experimental results on decays
Recent measurements by the NA48 at CERN of selected decays are
presented. These are the branching ratios and form factors for channels K_L\to
\pi^{\pm}\pi^0\e^{\mp}\nu_e (final result), and
(preliminary results).Comment: 4 pages, 5 figures, talk given at QCD'04 Conference, Montpellier,
France, 5-9 July 200
Charmed-strange Mesons Experimental Results
Two new states in the charm strange sector, DsJ(2317) and DsJ(2460), have
recently been discovered at electron positron collider experiments. The new
states are first observed in the dominant Ds pi0 and Ds* pi0 modes respectively
and are very narrow. They are consistent with 0+ and 1+ P-wave charm
anti-strange mesons. The DsJ(2460) meson is also observed in Ds gamma and Ds
pi+ pi- modes. A review of the discoveries and possible explanations is given.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figures and 1 table. To appear in the AIP proceedings of
Beauty 2003, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Oct14-18, 200
Experimental Results of a Wind Energy Conversion System with STATCOM Using Fuzzy Logic Controller
This paper describes a complete implementation of the experimental voltage regulation of a wind energy conversion system using STATCOM. Firstly conventional control technique is used which is proportional plus integral controller. The control technique is performed using a PC computer through a suitable interfacing and opt-isolating facilities. Secondly fuzzy logic controller is facilitated in this scheme to improve the performance of the experimental setup. Several efforts are done to choose the suitable gains of the fuzzy controller to achieve superior performance of the wind system. Experimental results of the system show the effectiveness of the proposed technique in regulating the output voltage. Thanks to the operation of the STATCOM in controlling the reactive power of the system to fix the output voltage at the desired value regardless of the wind speed
Experimental Results in Heavy Flavor Physics
The interplay of experiment and theory is explored in the context of current
data on b and c decay. Measurements of |Vcb| and |Vub| are extracted from
existing data. Conservative estimates give |Vcb|=(42.4 +/- 1.2{exp} +/-
2.3{thy})x10^{-3} and |Vub|=(3.90 +/- 0.16{exp} +/- 0.53{thy})x10^{-3}. Using
these values along with data on Bd, Bs mixing and CP violation in the K_{Long}
system, the allowed region of the CKM parameters rho and eta is derived. Tests
of factorization in two-body hadronic B decays to one heavy and one light meson
are shown and compared with modern theories which are also used to see if there
is new physics in two-body B decays to light mesons. The two new narrow D_{sJ}
states, discovered by BaBar and CLEO, respectively, are interpreted in light of
the observation of these states in B decays by Belle.Comment: Plenary talk at International Europhysics Conference on High Energy

Inviscid Flow Field Effects: Experimental results
The aero-optical distortions due to invisid flow effects over airborne laser turrets is investigated. Optical path differences across laser turret apertures are estimated from two data sources. The first is a theoretical study of main flow effects for a spherical turret assembly for a Mach number (M) of 0.6. The second source is an actual wind tunnel density field measurement on a 0.3 scale laser turret/fairing assembly, with M = 0.75. A range of azimuthal angles from 0 to 90 deg was considered, while the elevation angle was always 0 deg (i.e., in the plane of the flow). The calculated optical path differences for these two markedly different geometries are of the same order. Scaling of results to sea level conditions and an aperture diameter of 50 cm indicated up to 0.0007 cm of phase variation across the aperture for certain forward look angles and a focal length of F = -11.1 km. These values are second order for a 10.6 micron system
Experimental results of demagnetized magnetite classification
The paper presents experimental results of the classification of a magnetized and
demagnetized suspension of magnetite concentrate and shows a high degree of its
demagnetization in a pulsed mode
New Experimental Results on Strangeness Production
New experimental results on the production of and mesons
in the annihilation of stopped antiprotons are discussed. The explanation of
these facts in the framework of the polarized strangeness model is considered.Comment: 10 pages, Latex, fig1.eps, espcrc1.sty. Invited talk at the Low
Energy Antiproton Physics Conference, Villasimiu
